Irina A. Frolova

Frolova Irina is PH.D., associated professor of the Department of Theory and History of Culture
in Tver State University. She is a specialist on the American Protestant philosophy.
In 1994 she defended in the Institute of philosophy (Russian Academy of Sciences , Moscow)
her Master Thesis "Man and History in R. Niebuhr's religious and philosophical concept".
She teaches in Tver State University culturology, aesthetics and special course on the Medieval history
of oriental cultures.
Frolova I. Is a lecturer of the Center of Women History and Gender Studies and author
of the following courses:
1. Feminism as social and political movement: history and prospects.
2. Woman in the oriental cultures.
3. Women theme in the history of philosophy.
Two of the three courses were prepared on the base of Central European University
library because of a financial support, which was rendered by this University and CRC program.
Spheres of Scientific Interests in the Center:
Gender and Philosophy;
Gender and Ethnicity;
Gender and Politics;
Women History.
Gender problems are quite inserted into the circle of her researches in the stream of East-West dialogue.

She took part as lecturer not only in conferences, organized by Tver State University, but in the international
ones, such as "Family, Kinship and Studies of Culture" (Kansas university, USA, 2001) and
the Annual international conferences on the Conflicts resolution, organized by the Institute "Harmony"
(Russia) and Common Bond Institute (USA) in 2002 and 2003.
